Job description

Are you an experienced Assistant Accountant interested in joining a successful SME business in Belfast City Centre? This could be the ideal role for you!


VANRATH are delighted to be partnered with a growing SME business, who are offering a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to become part of their team.

You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting key financial decision-making processes within the organisation.

You will report to the Financial Controller and assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the finance function.

What you'll do

  • Post monthly accruals and prepayments
  • Support month-end close, ensuring all accruals and transactions are recorded
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts
  • Assist in preparing financial reports, reflecting accurate accruals
  • Help with VAT returns and ensure correct tax-related accruals
  • Oversee Accounts payable and receivable


About you

  • Minimum of 2 years accounting experience is required
  • Part Qualified Assistant accountant (ACCA, CIMA) or Accounting Technician (ATA, IATI)
  • A competent individual with strong administrative/customer service experience.
  • Strong systems experience, particularly Excel and Sage 200.
  • Positive, can-do attitude who thrives working both individually and as a team.
