Job Description:

HOK are looking for a Part II / recently qualified Architect to join our friendly, hardworking and collaborative studio in central London, and our continually expanding Science + Technology design team.

Are you inspired by scientific discovery from the quantum realm to the origins of life and the cosmos? Can you see yourself working closely with world leading scientists and translating their science missions into complex-built form which not only supports but expresses their vision?

Reporting to the Regional Leader, you would be supported by our Lab Planners and the architectural design team to deliver a government-backed complex laboratory facility. The wider team are also delivering projects with international pharmaceutical companies, commercial lab developers and leading UK and international universities, which you may also have input into.

We are interested in candidates who have completed at least one science and/or laboratory building as an Architectural Assistant or as a recently qualified Architect. In-depth experience is not necessarily required; however, a passion and commitment to the science sector is a prerequisite. Your creative ideas and input at every stage would be welcomed and expected, and as you grow within your role, you will have the opportunity to take on new responsibilities.

Specific skills:

  • Proficient in Revit is a requirement for the position, although skills development and support will be provided.
  • Strong design, technical, and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, ask questions, and be a proactive part of the team.
  • Knowledge in sustainable and integrated design would be advantageous along with Microsoft Affinity and presentation competence.
  • Proactive and positive attitude, enthusiastic to grow and learn; HOK also provides financial and paid study time to support professional qualifications/Part III.

Immediate start preferred.
