Job description

Outstanding opportunity for a Part 2 Architectural Assistant to join one of the UK's most respected Architectural practices, to be based within their regional office in Birmingham city centre, West Midlands. The practice has been established well over 30 years and has offices dotted throughout the UK and are consistently placed within the AJ100 list of practices year on year. The Birmingham studio is one of the smaller offices within the company with 7 people, but there are plans in place to double the headcount there within the next 12-18 months.

After being appointed on a high profile, large scale Commercial project, the Birmingham studio is now looking to appoint a Part 2 Architectural Assistant with a couple of years experience to join their growing team. With the company having clear plans for growth, this is a fantastic time to join as a Part 2, as you will essentially be growing with the office which could see you moving quickly into a senior level role once you qualify as an Architect. The Birmingham studio works in a broad range of projects and sectors generally, but as mentioned above the main focus on this role will be on a large scale Commercial project they have recently been instructed on.

It would be therefore highly advantageous for the Part 2 Architectural Assistant for this role to have experience in this kind of area. This position would suit a Part 2 with at least 2 years of post degree experience, potentially being close to completing your Part 3. The practice uses Revit as their main software package, so proficiency in this is essential. Requirements of the Part 2 Architectural Assistant as follows:

  1. UK recognised qualifications at Part 1 & 2 level.
  2. At least 2-3 years of industry experience, with focus at RIBA stages 1-3 being ideal for this role.
  3. Experience of working in the Commercial sector.
  4. Proficiency in AutoCAD & Revit software.

Based locally to Birmingham. A driving license would help. The practice offers hybrid working, usually 3 days in office and 2 working from home. However, in the first instance, you will likely need to be in the office 5 days a week for the probation period, so Part 2 Architectural Assistants applying to this role should be based in, or within commuting distance, of Birmingham. Salary in the region of £27,500-£31,500 dependent on experience will be offered to the successful Part 2. To apply, please forward your up to date CV & portfolio through to Ashley Johnson at Conrad Consulting. Alternatively, contact Ashley on (phone number removed) to discuss in further detail.
