What We Do At Jacobs

At Jacobs, we’re challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world’s most critical problems, reinforcing our drive to improve the lives of people everywhere. From facilities delivering life-saving therapies and ensuring clean water to enabling the connection of people through all modes of transportation and providing access to technology—we’re integrating multiple solution elements to build the smart environments of tomorrow.

About The Opportunity

As Cities & Places, we can create thriving places across different scales—from regions to cities, neighborhoods to individual buildings—by offering an integrated design approach. We have a tremendous opportunity to build upon our strengths, developing an interdisciplinary planning, design, and delivery practice that is uniquely Jacobs, setting industry standards, and home to the best and brightest design thinkers, disruptors, technical experts, visionaries, and storytellers.

Our business unit unites engineers, architects, surveyors, urban designers, project managers, and transport planners to provide collaborative and coordinated value design solutions for clients both nationally and internationally.

Role Outline/Responsibilities

A key enabler of our growth and work-winning strategy is the development of the Architecture team in the UK. To support this, Cities and Places are recruiting engineering and architectural professionals to work within our UK design teams and deliver high-value solutions to clients.

We are seeking a Part 1 Architectural Assistant to join our UK Architecture team based in London, with work across the UK and Europe. You will collaborate with architects within a multi-disciplinary design team, delivering solutions across sectors such as Public, Defence, Transportation, Commercial, Pharmaceutical, and Mixed-Use development.

We handle projects through all stages—from initial briefing and feasibility studies to conceptual and technical proposals, and finally to construction delivery. You should have strong design skills; we will support your development through mentoring and collaboration, using media from hand-sketching to BIM (Building Information Modelling).
