Part 1 Architectural Assistant

Dormer & Co. Chartered Architects is seeking a passionate, articulate and enthusiastic Part 1 Architectural Assistant to join our team. Based in the heart of beautiful North Yorkshire, our design lead studio provides our clients with bespoke designs in the residential and heritage sectors. The team prides itself in offering a very personal service and we value the long term relationships that we develop with our clients.

We are seeking someone with the following qualities:

  • A creative flair and passion for design excellence
  • A proactive and professional ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Enthusiasm to further develop their talents and knowledge ahead of continuing their Part 2 studies
  • Strong design focus, including the production of drawn and written information from feasibility through sketch design and planning
  • An aptitude for communicating with clients, design professionals and contractors fluently and confidently
  • Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD and production of 3D images
  • An awareness of the structure of UK regulatory requirements, i.e Planning, Listed Buildings, Building Regulations, CDM etc.
  • The ability to work concurrently on multiple projects both collaboratively and in a self-initiated manner

You will therefore experience the delight of seeing design concepts brought to fruition through the construction stages, and the satisfaction of working with clients to enhance their homes and lives.
