Job summary

SGN is seeking an External Affairs Officer to be the core link between SGN and our political engagement in Holyrood and the Scottish Government. You will monitor parliamentary activity and ensure SGN maintains a consistent voice while supporting engagement plans to sustain positive relationships.

You will contribute by supporting logistics and events, mapping stakeholders, and developing briefing materials for senior engagements. This is a full-time hybrid role with a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Approximately 2-4 years of experience within a political office or similar setting.

Responsibilities

• Support political engagement in Holyrood and the Scottish Government.
• Assist in planning and delivering meetings with Scottish Ministers and officials.
• Engage with MSPs across parties and ensure follow-up actions are delivered.
• Plan and deliver SGN presence at conferences and industry events.
• Develop and maintain stakeholder engagement plans including think tanks and NGOs.
• Monitor parliamentary activity and produce updates for internal audiences.
