An established industry player is seeking enthusiastic grounds maintenance operatives to join their dedicated team. This role involves maintaining the beautiful gardens, parks, and open spaces in the Dover District, known for its stunning landscapes and rich history. You will be responsible for various maintenance tasks, including grass cutting, pruning, and litter picking, ensuring that these areas remain inviting for the community. There are currently two vacancies available.
The Dover District Council area is the part of South East England that is nearest to mainland Europe. The area covers approximately 121 square miles and includes three main towns, Dover, Deal and Sandwich as well as dozens of picturesque villages and hamlets which make East Kent such an attractive and popular place to live and work.
The Dover District is steeped in history, with the iconic White Cliffs of Dover, several castles including the Lord Warden of Cinque Ports residence, Walmer Castle. As well as the coastline, the District has wonderful countryside, lush valleys and beautiful parks and gardens.
Are you an enthusiastic and reliable grounds maintenance operative?
We are looking for dynamic people to maintain the gardens, parks and open spaces in and around the local area. Working as part of the Council’s in-house Parks & Open Spaces Team, the role involves the following aspects of maintenance:
Candidates should have proven experience in grounds maintenance, be competent in using the appropriate power tools where required and be physically fit.
Certificates in spraying (PA1 PA6), Horticulture and Ride on Mowers would be an advantage but not essential.

Due to the nature of this role, the successful applicant will be required to undertake a Basic DBS check as part of their pre-employment clearances.
A full valid UK driving license is required for this role.
As this role involves the use of vibration equipment, any offer of employment will be subject to satisfactory medical clearance. We will ask you to complete a medical questionnaire which will be sent to our occupational health medical advisor and as a result of this you may be asked to undergo a medical.
