Job summary

Dover District Council is seeking a proactive Grounds Maintenance Operative to maintain gardens, parks and open spaces across the district. You will work solo or as part of the in-house Parks & Open Spaces Team, performing grass cutting, pruning and general upkeep to high standards.

Applicants should be physically fit, able to operate power tools, hold a full driving licence, and be willing to undertake DBS checks as part of pre-employment requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in grounds maintenance and operation of power tools.
• Physically fit and able to undertake outdoor work.
• Full manual driving licence essential.

Responsibilities

• Lone work or team maintenance of grounds within the Dover district.
• Carry out grass cutting, strimming, weeding and general upkeep to standards.
• Perform daily maintenance checks and report defects.
• Operate equipment safely in line with health and safety requirements.
• Be responsible for council vehicles and defect reporting.
