Job summary

London Borough Of Merton’s Parks and Greenspaces directorate is seeking an Engagement Officer to lead community involvement across parks, arboriculture and related services. You will coordinate volunteers and strengthen social value within service contractor networks, ensuring inclusive engagement across the borough.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Experience in managing volunteers, risk, reporting and securing funding.

Responsibilities

• Lead on improving community engagement across Parks and Arboriculture services.
• Nurture Social Value support offered by service contractors for grounds maintenance and arboriculture.
• Manage day-to-day communications with ward councillors and cabinet members.
• Build and expand networks with Friends of Parks, Residents associations, Tree Wardens and other groups.
