Job summary

Merton’s Public Realm directorate seeks a Parks and Greenspaces Engagement Officer to strengthen engagement across Parks and Arboriculture and to support social value initiatives with the current service contractor.

You will work with ward councillors, cabinet members and a network of Friends of Parks groups, Residents associations, Tree Wardens and other stakeholders, expanding reach to harder-to-engage areas while managing volunteers and funding within tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead community engagement across Parks and Arboriculture within the Public Realm directorate.
• Coordinate with ward councillors and cabinet members and manage relationships with Friends of Parks groups, Residents associations, Tree Wardens and stakeholders.
• Experience in managing volunteers, risk management, reporting and securing funding.
