Job summary

Birmingham City Council is seeking a Greenspace Development Manager to transform parks and green spaces into vibrant community assets in Birmingham. You will lead on priority improvement programmes, build partnerships, and secure external investment to support the City of Nature plan.

The role focuses on delivering biodiversity gains, widening community participation, and ensuring parks meet safety, accessibility, and quality standards while collaborating with local groups and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in park development or related field.
• Proven track record delivering projects and partnerships.
• Passion for green spaces, nature recovery and community engagement.
• Full UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and enhance parks and green spaces across the city.
• Lead community engagement and partnership working.
• Deliver improvement projects and oversee budgets and contractors.
• Support funding bids, investment planning and Green Flag applications.
• Ensure health and safety and environmental compliance.
