Job summary

The Parish of St James Hemingford Grey is seeking a Ministry Enablement Worker to join its staff and help build up ministry teams. You will support the Vicar and Ministry Team, plan and resource Sunday services, and help develop child and youth ministries, family programs, and community events.

The role requires flexible hours (20–35 per week), DBS clearance, and IT skills to support church communications and social media. A faith-based alignment with CPAS Basis of Faith is essential.

Qualifications

• A personal faith in Jesus Christ underpinning a lifestyle of integrity.
• Very good communication and interpersonal skills to enable others to grow and develop in their faith and ministry
• Good organisational skills to use time well to manage different tasks and a variable workload
• Flexibility in working arrangements including working evenings, Saturdays and Sundays as required
• IT skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and manage and develop the church’s use of social media.

Responsibilities

• Support the Vicar and Ministry Team in planning, resourcing and implementing services.
• Develop church ministries with volunteer teams, including children, youth, parents and schools.
• Source and develop training programmes for ministry teams.
• Plan and coordinate church-led community events (e.g., Easter Fair; Dads’ Camping).
• Provide IT support and manage church social media.
• Assist with day-to-day activities of running the church and parish centre.
