Job summary

Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking experienced Parenting Assessors for several temporary positions within the Derbyshire area for an initial duration of three months. These are full-time positions working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The successful candidate will assess parenting capacity, identify strengths and risks, and support positive change using the East Midlands Parenting Assessment Framework to provide clear analysis of parenting strengths, areas for development, and the

Qualifications

• Qualified in social care, childcare, family support or related field.
• Experience assessing needs of children and families.
• Experience working with families facing emotional or practical difficulties.
• Strong assessment, analytical and report-writing abilities.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and risk assessment.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently in a multi-agency environment.

Responsibilities

• Undertake comprehensive parenting assessments and provide evidence-based analysis and recommendations.
• Work directly with children, parents and carers, building positive relationships while providing support and respectful challenge.
• Assess risk, parenting capacity and the ability of parents to meet their children's emotional and developmental needs.
• Facilitate and observe family time sessions, assessing parent-child interactions, attachment and attunement.
• Work collaboratively with social workers, health professionals, education providers, police and other partner agencies.
• Produce clear assessments, reports and recommendations for use within multi-agency and legal processes.
• Identify strengths, barriers and capacity for change within families.
