Job Overview

Essex Parent Infant Mental Health Service - Together With Baby -is looking to recruit a Parent Infant Therapist to join the team to support families living in Essex. The service offers highly specialised assessment and intervention to parents and their infants (0-2yrs), offering support and guidance to improving and strengthening the Parent Infant relationship. The service covers Essex with a mix of urban and rural challenges utilising a small team of psychologists, psychotherapists and parent infant therapists. This post will be 1 day (0.2wte) and will offer a hybrid approach of both virtual working and home visiting. The team base is in Maldon however we welcome applicants from across Essex as we have access to team bases in locations across the county. We welcome applications from people who are interested in this area and have therapeutic experience but not with this client group as we provide a comprehensive training package and specialised supervision

Main duties of the job

The service offers a consultation model and applicant will be expected to support professionals to formulate a family's difficulties and support thinking regarding risk both to the infant and the parent.

Specialist assessment and formulation are integral to the service approach in supporting the understanding of the parent infant relationship difficulties. The applicant will need to draw upon strong therapeutic assessment and formulation skills.

The service offers a range of evidence based therapeutic interventions including Video Interaction approaches. The use of video offer a unique insight to the parent infant relationship and applicants will be expected to use these approaches in their work with families.
