Job summary

Pertemps Dudley Industrial is recruiting a Parcel Sorter for the Royal Mail Stoke Parcel Sorting Centre. This temporary, hands-on role involves working in a busy parcel operation and may include additional shifts during busier periods.

You will travel from Crewe by coach to the sorting centre and work across various shifts. The role is physically demanding, with duties including unloading, sorting, loading, and moving mail.

Qualifications

• Physically demanding role requiring being on your feet for most of the shift.
• Able to push trolleys up to 25 kg and lift/move mail bags up to 11 kg.
• Able to stand, walk and work in a fast-paced warehouse/sorting environment.

Responsibilities

• Unload mail and parcels from vehicles.

Royal Mail Parcel Sorter - Stoke Parcel Sorting Centre

Pertemps is supporting Royal Mail with warehouse recruitment at Stoke Parcel Sorting Centre.

This is a temporary, hands-on role within a busy parcel operation, with additional shifts potentially available during busier periods.

Job Role:

As a Parcel Sorter, you will work as part of a busy team handling parcels and mail within the sorting centre.

Key Responsibilities:

• Unloading mail and parcels from vehicles.
• Moving parcels and mail through the sorting centre.
• Sorting letters, parcels and other postal items.
• Loading and moving mail bags and parcels.
• Ensuring items are handled safely and efficiently.
• Working to tight deadlines in a busy environment.
• Moving between different tasks as required during your shift.
• Working effectively as part of a team.
• Maintaining a safe and tidy working environment.

The role is physically demanding and involves being on your feet for most of the shift.

You must be comfortable with:

• Pushing trolleys weighing up to 25kg.
• Lifting and moving mail bags weighing up to 11kg.
• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Working in a fast-paced warehouse/sorting environment.
• Repeated lifting, moving and sorting of parcels and mail.

Working Hours:

You will be required to work at least 5 shifts/ week (Monday to Sunday)

• Morning Shift -6am to 2pm - £15.14ph
• Afternoon Shift - 2pm to 10pm - £15.14ph
• Night Shift - 10pm to 6am - £16.44ph

Paid Travel Time:

You will receive 2 hours of paid travel time per shift:

• 1 hour travelling to the site
• 1 hour travelling back to Crewe

Travel time will be paid at your shift pay rate.

Important Information:

• You can commit to the assignment from the expected start date until the end of the assignment.
• You are flexible to work across the required shift patterns.
• You can work weekends when required.
• You are comfortable working additional shifts where required.
• You are physically able to undertake the duties described above.
• You can travel by the provided coach from Crewe to the Stoke Parcel Sorting Centre.
