We are currently recruiting for a Family Office based in the West End who are looking for a Paraplanner to join their team. They require a candidate who has completed the Level 4 Diploma.

Position Summary:

This is a growing business with a small, close-knit team and an excellent working environment and culture. The role involves working collaboratively with the Financial Adviser, Client Manager, and other colleagues to prepare recommendations and produce suitability reports in line with company policy, including maintaining client records. The position also requires promoting the company’s services professionally and in compliance with FCA regulations.

Core Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Effectively handle queries from clients and other parties through clear communication.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client communications, including interactions with third parties.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Adviser and Client Manager to discuss client objectives and gather necessary information for financial reports.
  • Manage client workflow, ensuring a clear overview of cases and workload.
  • Liaise with product providers and third parties to gather additional information for assessing client needs and formulating recommendations.
  • Assist in identifying planning opportunities and sourcing suitable solutions, including preparing tax calculations when necessary.
  • Obtain quotes, illustrations, and product details, and provide comparisons for analysis.
  • Prepare suitability letters and reports for approval by the Financial Adviser, including associated documentation and pre-completion paperwork for clients.
  • Support administrative functions such as new business processing, data updates, and organizing future planning meetings.
  • Assist in preparing for and attending client meetings, providing follow-up notes and managing actions.
  • Participate in the Investment Committee and collaborate with external third parties on investment strategies and due diligence.
  • Engage in continuous personal development, keeping knowledge current and maintaining supporting records.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Level 4 Diploma for Financial Advisers (via CISI or CII)
  • Paraplanning experience
  • Strong knowledge of investment, life, and pension products
  • Working towards Certified or Chartered Financial Planner status
  • Technical knowledge in Tax, Trusts, Pensions, IHT planning/investments
  • Experience with Iress/Adviser Office software

Technical knowledge may be validated through internal assessments.
