Paraplanner - Fleet

Location: Fleet (hybrid)
Salary: £45,000+

Our client is looking for a hybrid Paraplanner to work as part of the Paraplanning team. The purpose of this role is to support Financial Advisors in the delivery of holistic advice and financial plans for clients. This is a target driven role that entails technical research and report writing in complex subject matter. The role holder must demonstrate excellent planning and organisation skills; attention to detail is key, with the ability to analyse and decipher complex plan information.

They are looking for a knowledgeable individual who is able to manage time effectively, make confident decisions and prioritise. A good team player who will look to mentor others in their specialised areas and learn from others in their development areas.

Key Role Tasks
  • Review and quality check fact-finds to ensure the information provided allows you to conduct fund and product research for the client.
  • Set down holistic financial planning advice for each client using the information provided to draft a recommendation report.
  • Use own knowledge and expertise to construct a draft advice report where this falls outside of the templated reports/standard paragraphs, preparing a report for sign off by the adviser.
  • Obtain illustrations and Key Features Documents, taking responsibility for all application forms and associated documentation to support the recommendations report, ensuring it can be processed.
  • Produce high quality draft outputs, requiring minimal changes from advisers, attracting positive feedback and excellent grades from the file checking team.
  • Hit and exceed the set drafts target on a monthly basis, individually and in support of the wider team goals.
  • Co-ordinate the issue of the final recommendation report with supporting enclosures, maintaining compliant files up to the point of sale.
  • Update the internal case tracking systems on an ongoing basis; ensure all record keeping is maintained on the back office system, ensuring documents are imported in a timely manner to support the sale.
  • Liaise with Business Support where administrative support is required at pre-sales. Liaise with advisers on a regular basis, challenging areas where missing or additional information is required to support the client requirements.
  • Mentor team members as required in specialised areas.
  • Maintain both technical and market knowledge on an ongoing basis to maintain CPD and demonstrate ability to analyse, research and document recommendations across whole of market products.
  • Contribute to change management initiatives affecting the immediate role to constantly improve and influence efficiencies both in and outside of the team.
Key Skills
  • Practical knowledge of financial planning, pensions, investments, wealth management, life assurance, tax matters and corporate financial advice.
  • Good IT skills including Excel and Word.
  • Level 4 Diploma qualified.
  • Financial Services experience is essential, preferably obtained in a life and pensions environment.
  • Previous Paraplanning experience is essential, across a wide range of providers.
