FINANCIAL PLANNING PARAPLANNER / INVESTMENT RESEARCH ANALYST

Location: Harrogate | Hybrid Working (50% WFH)
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000
Hours: Mon - Fri, 9am -5pm

Full-time, permanent position

A senior-level opportunity within a well-established financial advisory and discretionary investment firm based in Harrogate. The role involves delivering high-quality market research, investment analysis, and client support services for high-net-worth individuals. The successful candidate will contribute to the preparation of suitability letters, cash flow modelling, and portfolio reviews, while working closely with consultants, administrators, and investment managers in a collaborative team of nine.

The key responsibilities of the Paraplanner:
* Act as initial point of contact between consultants, clients, and product providers
* Prepare for client meetings and assist in product research
* Support model portfolio oversight with the investment manager and technical team
* Draft compliant suitability letters and client reports
* Conduct portfolio reviews and valuations
* Perform cash flow modelling using Voyant
* Ensure compliance with company standards and maintain accurate client files
* Maintain and update Xplan Database and SEI portal
* Communicate with clients and providers via email, phone, and written correspondence
* Manage office diary system and check valuations
* Refer advice issues to consultants

The Key Requirements of the Paraplanner:
* Proficient in Xplan Database
* Advanced Microsoft Excel (formulas, formatting, spreadsheet setup)
* Microsoft Word, Outlook, and FE Analytics
* Voyant cash flow modelling software
* Strong letter writing skills (including pension transfers)
* Technical product knowledge across pensions, investments, taxation, and trusts
* Confident client liaison and communication skills
* Understanding of compliance regulations
* Familiarity with SEI (WPOIMs discretionary trading platform) preferred
* Minimum Diploma Level (Chartered status ideal)
* Previous experience in a similar financial planning or paraplanning role
