Location: Offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and London
About the Role:
We're looking for a detail-driven Paraplanner to join our IFA client's paraplanning team as they go through a period of continued growth to ensure first-class client service is delivered. You will play a key role in turning financial strategies into actionable, well-documented plans. This isn't a back-office-only role — you'll collaborate closely with advisors, sit in on client meetings when needed, and help shape client outcomes through sharp technical work and problem-solving.
What You'll Be Doing:
Build and refine financial plans for individuals and families — including modelling cash flow, pension and retirement income streams, investment allocations, and insurance needs.
Translate strategy into documentation — create reports and recommendations that are not only compliant but easy for clients to understand.
Crunch the numbers — run projections, scenario analyses, and stress-testing to support advice recommendations.
Act as a technical sounding board — assist advisors with research on legislation, tax rules, and product comparisons.
Own your space — manage your planning workflow, keep CRM notes tidy, and stay on top of compliance checklists and review dates.
Collaborate — attend internal strategy sessions, client briefings, and work with admin support and compliance to ensure every plan is both sound and deliverable.
What We're Looking For:
At least 2 years of experience in a paraplanning or technical support role.
A strong working knowledge of pension, tax strategy, personal insurance, and investment platforms.
Comfortable using tools for cash-flow planning, Excel, or other planning software — or willing to learn fast.
Excellent written skills — you'll need to be able to explain complex financial strategies in clear, concise documents.
Ideally already hold relevant qualifications (e.g., Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning) and moving towards Chartered status.
Someone who enjoys problem-solving, pays attention to detail, and can juggle multiple tasks without losing the plot.
Nice to Have (But Not Essential):
Experience with high-net-worth clients and estate planning experience.
A bit of personality in your writing — bonus points if you can make technical documents human-readable.
Why Join Us?
As a collaborative, down-to-earth team with a strong client-first culture you won't get lost in a massive corporate structure — your work will directly impact clients and help shape better financial futures. The company will invest in your growth and back you if you're aiming to become a Financial Adviser down the track (if that's your thing).
