Job description

My client is a global Wealth & Asset Management business with circa £20bn AUM. The core of their expertise is managing investments for wealthy families. They build investment strategies that are designed to be resilient and help clients achieve their long-term financial goals. Many of their clients are international, with finances, business interests, property, and family across multiple countries. They provide clear, comprehensive financial strategies and global reporting regardless of currency or location.

They now have an opportunity within their highly prestigious US Family Office team for a Paraplanner with 12-24 months industry experience to join. They are offering a salary up to £55k for the right candidate. This opportunity can lead someone into a Paraplanner role within 2 years and then further, a route to Adviser status.

The US team specialises in working with complex HNW and UHNW clients, providing an expansive service that effectively manages their investable assets.

ROLE SUMMARY & PURPOSE
  • To complete paraplanner duties on a dedicated book of private clients
  • To ensure that all wealth planning advice is clear, documented, and compliant
  • To act as a subject matter expert on all wealth planning wrappers and products
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
WEALTH PLANNING
  • Providing wealth planning solutions for UK & International clients
  • Ensuring that all fees and solutions advised to clients are correct, documented, and compliant
  • Completing client suitability reports and annual suitability review letters
  • Ensuring that clients understand the key features of advice that has been provided
  • Producing client cash flow analysis
  • Reviewing client risk profile reports
  • Supporting the advisors with technical research and analysis of data collected on behalf of clients. Providing guidance to advisers on aspects of specific cases to support good consumer outcomes.
  • Assisting with client meetings, taking notes, and following up on any actions, as necessary
CLIENT MANAGEMENT
  • Communicating with clients via meetings, telephone calls, and emails
  • Working with Administrators to guide clients through the account onboarding lifecycle
  • Completing withdrawal call-backs with clients as required
  • Working with incumbent custodians to retrieve client assets transfer data
  • Providing regular updates to wealth managers and clients throughout onboarding process
GENERAL ADMINISTRATION
  • Assisting with account opening pack creation for complex accounts
  • Contributing to wider company projects as required
  • Completing meeting and call file notes
  • Providing feedback on improvements to business processes and procedures
DEVELOPMENT
  • Completion of exams
  • Attending industry events and seminars
  • Joining internal training and updates
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of paraplanning processes
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Hold the Diploma Level 4 qualification (or higher) and have a desire to achieve Chartered and/or Certified financial planner status.
  • Ideally a minimum of 3-4 years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Good understanding of the financial planning process and associated compliance aspects.
  • Driven and focused with the ability to complete tasks under pressure on time and right first time.
  • Experience of report writing.
  • Technically proficient across all areas of financial planning.
  • Ability to use technical financial planning tools, financial modelling, and back-office software.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and interact with clients and providers outside of the business.
  • Act as main point of contact and deal effectively with technical queries from clients and other parties through effective communication.
