Job summary

Rayment Recruitment is seeking an experienced Paraplanner to join our growing financial services team. The successful candidate will support Advisers with the advice process, manage X-Plan tasks, and produce high‑quality client suitability reports across protections, pensions, investments and equity release.

You will conduct product research, monitor regulatory changes, and assist with cash‑flow forecasting and client reviews.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Paraplanner in a financial services environment.
• Strong understanding of compliance requirements and high‑risk / preapproval processes.
• Ability to write client suitability reports for Protection, Pensions, Investments, and related areas.
• Experience using back office/reporting software to support Adviser activity.

Responsibilities

• Support Advisers with the end‑to‑end advice process, ensuring compliance.
• Manage tasks on X-Plan and understand related processes and workflows.
• Conduct research into financial products and determine suitability for clients.
• Prepare client suitability reports across protections, pensions and investments.
• Assist with cash‑flow forecasting and fund switches; handle withdrawals when required.
• Support client meetings and regular reviews; help build client financial projections.

The Paraplanner Opportunity

The role of a Paraplanner is to support one or more Financial Adviser/s with the advice processes in a compliant and efficient manner.

This involves:

• Managing tasks and the advice processes on X-Plan (back-office system) and having a full understanding of relevant processes for the job role, including but not limited to:
• Advice process - Including an understanding of the requirements for high-risk business/preapproval from compliance
• Fund switches
• Withdrawals

Conducting regular meetings with the Adviser(s) in order to:-

• Manage new business cases/submissions
• Keep abreast of the Adviser’s(s) new business pipeline, their targets and monitoring performance against targets; (at adviser’s discretion)
• Undertaking research into the different financial products that can be held by a client and understanding which are suitable for which clients, factoring in the advantages and disadvantages of each product.

Writing client suitability reports using the company’s preferred report writing software in the following areas:-

• Protection
• Pensions/retirement planning
• Investments
• Equity release
• Cash-flow forecasting
• Keeping abreast of current regulation and legislation and being able to apply this to client scenarios to meet objectives and ensure best advice is given.
• Understanding and suitably applying the Company’s investment process and various investment offerings to meet a client’s attitude to risk, personal circumstances, and financial objectives.

Understanding and using the company’s software to support the advice process, including (subject to change):-

• Dynamic Planner
• X-Plan
• FE-Analytics
• Defaqto Engage
• Structured Edge
• Microsoft Office

Develop a working knowledge of providers’ platforms and supporting websites with:-

• General understanding and navigation of the providers sites used throughout the business
• Obtaining the correct documentation to support business sign-ups (where applicable)
• Performing online transactions (as required) – including fund switching, withdrawals, cash management
• Working with the Adviser(s) to prepare for client meetings and assisting with regular client reviews (the review process).
• Supporting the Adviser(s), as-and-when appropriate, in building cash-flow models to assist the client in overseeing their financial position and forecast future financial scenarios.
• Collaborating with Advisers to ensure suitability of advice and completeness of paperwork for all clients.
• Managing fund switches on client pensions and investments, ensuring they are invested in line with their risk profile.
