Job summary

St. James’s Place plc in Alderley Edge is seeking an experienced Paraplanner to join our growing practice.

You will provide technical research and analysis to support retirement planning, inheritance tax advice, investments and family protection, and produce compliant reports for our Financial Advisors. You will work closely with the Senior Partner and future advisers, cover the full client journey, and may attend client meetings.

Qualifications

• Experienced Paraplanner with strong report writing skills.
• Level 4 Diploma desirable but not required if paraplanning experience.
• Experience with Life, Pension, and Investment products.
• Hybrid working 2–3 days a week.
• Good team player with work/life balance.

Responsibilities

Paraplanner

Location - Alderley Edge, (SK9, Cheshire) or Hybrid

Salary - £40k - £45k + Private Medical Insurance, Death in service 4 x salary, generous pension matching, and a discretionary bonus scheme.

We are an SJP Senior Partner Practice in Alderley Edge looking to appoint an experienced Paraplanner to join our business.

Our Practice is in the early stages of transitioning to a multi‑adviser business, and we are seeking a Paraplanner to assist in providing a first‑class service to our clients. Our work consists primarily of retirement planning, Inheritance Tax advice, investments, and family protection.
We will encourage you to work closely with the existing Senior Partner, and any future advisers appointed within the business, as well as directly with our clients as we seek to provide them with an excellent service.

You will be providing technical expertise to support and assist in this process, through undertaking detailed research and analysis of a wide variety of financial planning solutions. Plus, producing compliant financial planning reports for our Financial Advisors/Partner to present to clients.

As our Paraplanner, you will be the go‑to individual for advice on technical queries and your duties will focus on covering the full client journey, including conducting research to source suitable solutions; completing detailed and informative reports and liaising with the Administration team to ensure business is accurately processed and systems are correctly updated. There will be opportunities to attend or host client‑facing meetings from time to time.

You will always strive to produce well‑thought‑out and meaningful Client reports that demonstrate your attention to detail and understanding of their needs.

Paraplanner Requirements

• You should be an experienced Paraplanner with great report writing skills
• Level 4 Diploma is desirable but not required if you have good paraplanning experience
• You will have experience of Life, Pension, and Investment products

• Hybrid working is an option with 2-3 days a week available for WFH
