Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a paramedic to join our Primary Care team at HM Dovegate, a category B Prison located near Uttoxeter in Staffordshire.

In this role you'll be working with a multi‑disciplinary team that will support you and help you succeed.

Hours

Monday to Sunday: 06:45‑18:15 or 06:45‑20:15. You will be expected to work a maximum of 2 weekends per month.

Salary

This position is full‑time; you will receive an annual salary up to £49,175 per annum, depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
  • Provide outstanding evidence‑based care to patients, seeking out, listening to, and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them—focussing on emergency and unplanned care to patients with both primary care and acute care needs.
  • Deliver non‑judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries.
  • Play an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care following our policies, procedures and always considering safeguarding.

  • Proven experience in either Accident & Emergency, Primary Care environments or Minor injuries / illness
  • Ideal: experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
