Job summary

Horwich Farrelly in Leeds is seeking an experienced Paralegal/Litigation Executive or Solicitor to join our Personal Injury Motor team. You will manage a litigated caseload of small claims, handling liability and vehicle damage claims, with opportunities for progression.

The role requires experience with CPR, SRA Code of Conduct, and motor insurance knowledge, plus strong drafting, negotiation and teamwork to support a fast-paced, high-volume department.

Qualifications

• Experience handling litigated claims, preferably defendant cases.
• Familiarity with CPR and the SRA Code of Conduct.
• Knowledge of motor insurance sector and claims handling.
• Ability to manage fast-paced caseloads and meet SLAs.
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Run a litigated caseload of small claims matters dealing with liability and vehicle damage claims.
• Draft documents, applications, offers, orders and directions.
• Attend telephone conferences and manage cases in line with SLAs.
• Review quantum, value damages and formalise case plans; enter into negotiations.
• Liaise with third party solicitors and insurers, own insurer clients and lay clients.

Paralegal/ Litigation Executive / Solicitor - Personal Injury Motor - Leeds

Our Motor team are growing, and we are seeking experienced Litigation Executives/Solicitors to join at our Leeds office to support our amazing growth journey!

What will you be doing?

This is a greatopportunityfor a LitigationExecutive who is looking tobuildupon their experience, as you will be running a litigated caseload of small claims matters dealing with liability and vehicle damage claims.

YouwillassistotherLitigationExecutive/Claims Handlersas and when required with anaveragecase load of 100 files, so having previous litigationexperiencedealing withclaim handling a litigated caseload preferable a defendant case load is highly desired.

Some of the responsibilities you will be required to carry out are drafting documents, applications, offers, orders and directions, attending telephone conferences and managing cases in line with SLAs.Reviewing quantum, valuing general and special damages and formalising case plans as well as entering into telephone negotiations, liaising with third party solicitors and insurers, own insurer clients and lay clients.

What do I need?

The ideal candidate would have experience in handling litigated claims, preferably with a focus on defendant cases. Familiarity with the CPR and the SRA Code of Conduct, along with their practical application and knowledge of motor insurance would be a huge plus.

You will need to bring an enthusiastic and self-motivated attitude with a desire to achieve and exceed targets combined with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ability to demonstrate initiative and creative problem solving is desirable.
