Job description

Department:
Real Estate - Portfolio Management

Employment Type:
Permanent

Location:
Leeds

Description
This role is to work as part of the Portfolio Management team, which is a well-established national team of junior fee-earners supporting our national Real Estate group.

Our Real Estate group covers every aspect of commercial real estate work including development, investment, asset management, funding, construction, landlord and tenant, planning, environmental issues, and dispute resolution. Clients include property management and development companies, health trusts, government bodies (local and central), owner-occupiers, and institutions, both in the UK and overseas.

The team also has a proven track record in paralegal progression. We value and see our Portfolio Management team as an "incubation hub" for future talent. In the last 12 months alone, four former paralegals have qualified as solicitors with the support of professional development funding and mentoring from within the team and wider group.

Key Responsibilities
This Paralegal role is varied, working across the national Real Estate group but mainly serving telecoms operator clients. You will have the opportunity to manage your own files and interact with clients.

Your work will include preparing title and lease reports, drafting and negotiating leases, agreements, and deeds, as well as assisting fee earners on various client matters and providing general support.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
  • Excellent academics, including a 2.1 degree or higher.
  • A genuine interest in law and property.
  • Experience in Commercial Property is not essential but would be advantageous.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to produce high-standard work.
  • Confidence in building strong relationships with clients (internal and external) and third parties at all levels.
  • Flexible, organized, and self-motivated team player capable of working collaboratively to achieve goals.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
