Our client in St Albans is looking for a Paralegal to work within the Private Clients sector of this prestigious firm of solicitors.

You will need to have a background in Private Clients to be considered for this role. Day-to-day duties include:

  • Taking client instructions and progressing the matter file under the Team Leader's instructions. This may include drafting Wills, Powers of Attorney, and dealing with the administration of Estates and Trusts.
  • Providing courteous and efficient service to clients.
  • Ensuring that work sent to clients and related parties is correctly prepared according to the firm’s standards and instructions.
  • Observing the Solicitors Code of Conduct and the Solicitors Accounts Rules.
  • Reporting complaints from clients or third parties to the Head of Department.
  • Producing fees in accordance with the fee target set at the beginning of each financial year.
  • Opening and closing client files following standard procedures, including online money laundering checks.
  • Answering calls and meeting clients without appointments, taking messages, and making file notes.
  • Liaising with clients and maintaining lawyers’ diaries.
  • Organising meetings, managing outgoing post and emails, and maintaining/updating files.
  • Undertaking typing duties, collating work from outsourcing, and liaising with the Accounts Department for administrative tasks.
  • Inputting client details, undertaking general administrative duties, and archiving files.
  • Reporting IT and equipment faults, working as part of a team, and assisting with secretarial duties.
  • Handling client queries, updating legal documents, and introducing clients to relevant departments.

In return, the company offers a salary between £25,000 - £27,000 per annum.
