Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload of fast-track casualty claims, including EL/PL and disease matters.
• Assist Partners and Directors with high-value, complex cases (EL/PL and regulatory matters).
• Draft court documents and attend hearings, working to court deadlines.
• Conduct liability investigations, gather evidence, and prepare client advice.
• Review medical records and other case documents.
• Maintain case management system and ensure data accuracy for reporting.
• Ensure accuracy in client MI, data reporting and billing.
• Provide the highest level of client care at all times.

The Major Injury and Casualty team at DWF and are currently hiring for a Paralegal to join their Casualty team in Leeds.

The Major Injury and Casualty Team are nationally recognised and one of the largest in the UK. We act for a number of well-known insurer clients and provide high-quality advice on a wide range of matters that are of significant value, resulting in an interesting and rewarding set of cases for you to work on.

The team handle a range of files including Employers Liability (EL) / Public Liability (PL) matters, and Disease; including, Noise Induced Hearing Loss, Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome and Repetitive Strain Disorder.

This is a great opportunity for someone who has recently graduated and is keen to progress their legal career, or for someone with previous experience in personal injury, who is looking to contribute their existing skillset in a well-established team.

The role is hybrid, and the successful individual will be expected to work 1-2 days per week from the Leeds office.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload of fast-track casualty claims, including employer's liability (EL), public liability (PL) and disease matters.
• Assist a Partner and Directors with high value, complex cases, including both civil employer's liability (EL), public liability (PL) and regulatory (Inquest/HSE prosecutions etc).
• Drafting court documents, attending court hearings, working to court deadlines.
• Conducting liability investigations, gathering evidence, preparing advice to clients, identifying medical experts and preparing instructions.
• Reviewing medical records and other case related documents.
• General day to day administration tasks including keeping the case management system up to date and in line with client service level requirements.
• Ensure accuracy and attention to detail when managing client MI, data reporting and billing requirements.
• Utilise strong IT and data management skills to maintain accurate records and support reporting activities.
• Provide the highest level of client care at all times.
