We have an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to work as a Paralegal, providing specialist support for members of our People Legal Team.
You will support the Senior Lawyer and Lawyers in the People Team in delivering legal services by managing a caseload of legal matters. The provision of legal support will include the administration of the Lawyers caseloads and taking an active part in providing legal support to the team of Lawyers in the People Team, who are responsible for the administration and conduct of contentious matters such as Council prosecutions, Planning Enforcement, Employment Tribunals, Adult Social Care issues, Tenancy Enforcement and Housing Disrepair. The Post holder will assist Lawyers with their caseloads and will have an active role in organising evidence, drafting and reviewing documents, preparing Court bundles, preparing instructions to Counsel and researching.
Although a legal qualification is not essential, a background in law, particularly Public Law, would be advantageous.
The ability to develop positive relationships with a wide range of professionals is crucial. Competent IT skills are essential. Knowledge and experience of Legal Case Management systems would be advantageous.
The ideal candidate will be able to produce a high standard of work whilst working to constant deadlines. Consideration will be given to training suitable candidates.
Handling confidential data sensitively and securely in accordance with policy is essential to this role.
