Department: CSG - Casualty (EL/PL / CAT PI / Disease / Fraud / Motor / Credit Hire)

Description

We are seeking several Paralegals to join our market-leading CSG team, which collaborates with over 40 insurance companies and self-insured corporates. This position is based in Newport on a permanent basis.

You will be required to work at the Newport office five days a week during your probation period. After passing probation, a hybrid working arrangement can be discussed with your manager.

Team Overview

We have openings across two core teams in Newport:

  • Motor Injury Team: Handles motor injury claims of all complexities and values. Known for a progressive approach and a market-leading reputation, we focus on litigation, tracking, and analyzing behaviors and trends to provide bespoke strategies and market insights.
  • Credit Hire and Repair Team: Manages defendant credit hire disputes, offering end-to-end solutions and pre-emptive advice. Cases range from small track to multi-track, including fraudulent claims, covering liability, indemnity, and related losses such as personal injury, credit repair, and diminution.

Key Responsibilities

Role: You will provide a professional, high-quality service in claim management, supported by supervisors and team managers. Your responsibilities include:

  • Managing a varied caseload of pre-litigated or litigated matters.
  • Screening cases for prospects and liaising with clients upon receiving instructions.
  • Reviewing instructions and advising clients on case prospects.
  • Resolving claims through negotiation and litigation within client standards.
  • Instructing experts and counsel, drafting Witness Statements, and preparing Court documents.
  • Maintaining communication with clients and their customers, managing expectations proactively.
  • Meeting individual performance targets, including financial metrics and KPIs.
  • Upholding the DAC Beachcroft brand and standards.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience
