Job Description:

Our client is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic paralegal to work on a large-scale case within the business crime department. The matter involves large volumes of documentation so the individual must be highly organised, conscientious and confident in coping with challenging deadlines. The ideal candidate will have experience of complex and detailed document management, document review platforms and disclosure exercises.

About the Role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing large quantities of documents (both historical documents and incoming new material)
  • Using a digital document review platform
  • Reviewing and analysing case materials
  • Producing case material summaries
  • Attending and taking notes at client meetings, court or during conference calls
  • Drafting memos and correspondence
  • Liaising with Counsel
  • Legal research
  • General administration, as required
About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An excellent academic background, including a law degree or GDL and the LPC or BPTC;
  • At least 12 months previous contentious/criminal paralegal experience
  • Familiarity with eDisclosure platforms (such as Relativity)
  • A keen interest in criminal law and a strong work ethic
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, together with a high standard of written and spoken English
  • Strong IT skills including a good working knowledge of all the Microsoft Office programmes including Excel
  • Experience of using legal databases such as Lexis Nexis, Westlaw and Practical Law
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a constantly changing workload
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A proactive and positive approach to work
