Job summary

DWF is seeking a proactive Paralegal to join the Fraud & Motor NI team in Belfast. You will manage a varied caseload, perform legal research, draft documents, and contribute to efficient case progression in a fast-paced environment.

This hybrid role offers exposure to injury, fraud and motor litigation for a blue‑chip client base, with supportive colleagues and clear career progression within a values‑driven, inclusive firm.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a legal environment or similar role.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.

• Proficiency in legal research and case management software.

Responsibilities

• Handle a caseload of personal injury, fraud and motor-related claims, conduct research, case prep, and draft documents.
• Review and assess motor insurance claims for potential fraud indicators.
• Collaborate with clients, insurers and other parties to obtain evidence.
• Prepare court bundles and file legal documents.
• Maintain accurate records using the firm’s case management system.
• Liaise with clients and external parties, providing updates on progress.
• Assist with investigation of claims, including CCTV footage, accident reports, and witness statements.
• Conduct legal research and prepare briefs for Solicitors.

Essential

• Previous experience working in a Legal environment / similar role.

• Proficiency in legal research and using case management software.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable

• Experience including insurance and litigation, preferably with some knowledge of personal injury, fraud and motor.
• Strong knowledge of the Northern Ireland legal system and civil litigation process.
