Sills & Betteridge LLP in Nottingham is seeking a Paralegal for the Family Department to support fee earners and help clients through challenging times in family law. You will draft, amend and check documents, prepare hearing bundles and handle CCMS processes with care.

You will join an experienced team that values client care, accuracy and timely delivery, with opportunities for training and career development in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Compassionate client care with experience in Family Law as Paralegal or Legal Assistant.
• CCMS knowledge or Legal Aid experience is desirable.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Provide general support to fee earners across the department.
• Draft, amend and proofread legal documents and correspondence.
• Prepare hearing bundles and court documents.
• Assist with Legal Aid applications and CCMS processes.
• Liaise with clients, courts and third parties.
• Record time and contribute to billing targets.

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Paralegal to join our Family Department. Working as part of a supportive and experienced team, you will play an important role in helping clients through some of the most challenging times in their lives while developing your career in Family Law.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing general support to fee earners across the department;
• Drafting, amending and proofreading legal documents and correspondence;
• Preparing hearing bundles and court documents;
• Assisting with Legal Aid applications and CCMS processes;
• Liaising with clients, courts and other third parties;
• Recording time and working towards billing targets;
• Contributing to the continued development and growth of the department.

About you

You will have a compassionate approach to client care and previous experience as a Family Law Paralegal or Legal Assistant. Ideally, you will also have:

• Experience of Legal Aid work and/or using CCMS;
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail;
• The ability to manage competing priorities effectively;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
