Qualifications

  • Experience in debt recovery, preferably in a legal setting or debt recovery agency.
  • Paralegal qualification in Debt Recovery Practice or Civil Court Practice.
  • Proficient IT and database skills for case management and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate administration and legal processes for debt recovery cases (unsecured/secured).
  • Draft letters for non-standard cases and liaise with clients.
  • Attend court processes: draft writs, file forms, coordinate hearings and decrees.
  • Maintain case plan updates and client communications throughout recovery.
  • Instruct debt collection actions, evictions, or bankruptcy as needed.
  • Ensure documentation is scanned and records kept accurately.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly recovery reports.

Summary of Role

To coordinate the administration and legal processes associated with unsecured/secured debt recovery (personal loans, credit cards, rent arrears).

Key Tasks
  • Meet and correspond with clients, including drafting individual letters for non-standard cases.
  • Attend to the court process: draft writs, complete forms to serve on the debtor, liaise with local agents to attend a hearing etc.
  • Coordinate the court process up to the court issuing decree ensuring timescales are met and all relevant documentation is complete.
  • Correspond with client and debtor throughout the recovery process.
  • Update the case plan database system to record process.
  • Carry out diligence for the client, which may include: liaising with debtor to agree payment, instructing arrestment and inhibition, coordinating eviction process or declaring bankruptcy.
  • Ensure documents are scanned and all administration is done efficiently.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports as required.
Qualifications and Experience
  • You will have relevant debt recovery experience, preferably within a legal environment or within a debt recovery agency.
  • Paralegal qualification in either Debt Recovery Practice or Civil Court Practice.
  • IT and database skills.
