Salary: £24,000 - £30,000 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Reports To: Senior Solicitor / Head of Criminal Law

Work Location: In-person

Role Summary

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Criminal Paralegal to join our legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who have completed the Bar course/LPC/SQE and are eager to gain hands-on experience in criminal law.

You will work closely with solicitors and barristers, supporting them throughout case preparation, managing client relations, and ensuring smooth trial proceedings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct legal research on criminal law matters and case precedents
  • Draft legal documents, witness statements, and court bundles
  • Assist with trial preparation and evidence review
  • Liaise with clients, police, courts, and other legal stakeholders
  • Organise and manage case files, both digital and physical
  • Track deadlines and ensure timely submission of documents
  • Assist with scheduling, witness coordination, and courtroom preparation
Essential Requirements
  • Completion of the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC)/LPC or equivalent
  • Strong interest and foundational knowledge in criminal law
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems (LEAP)
  • Previous experience in a criminal law setting is advantageous but not essential
  • Driving Licence and Car (Preferable)
