Employment Type: Permanent

Location: Bristol

Description

DAC Beachcroft is looking to recruit a Paralegal to join our Clinical Risk team.

This role presents an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and passionate individual to join an award-winning, progressive, and highly specialised team.

Our Clinical Risk cluster is the largest nationally, handling a challenging but fulfilling caseload of defendant clinical negligence work, acting for clients such as NHS Resolution, NHS Trusts, MDU, independent providers, and medical malpractice insurers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting the team with pre-litigation and litigated defendant clinical negligence claims on behalf of NHS Resolution and NHS Trusts. Tasks include instructing experts and counsel, liaising with witnesses, arranging conferences, drafting documents, conducting research, and managing disclosure issues. Opportunities to attend conferences and hearings with counsel are also available.
  • Following client protocols and processes closely, utilizing our bespoke case management system.
  • Contributing to non-fee earning activities such as knowledge sharing, training, client seminars, and business development.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
  • Previous clinical negligence experience is highly desirable but not essential.
  • We consider candidates with limited experience who have strong academic qualifications, are practical, enthusiastic, and eager to learn, with a strong sense of teamwork.
  • Ability to understand and navigate complex legal issues.
  • Demonstrable ability to adopt a commercial perspective, focusing on client needs rather than purely academic legal analysis.
  • Confidence and professionalism in dealing with clients on day-to-day issues, building strong relationships.
