Job summary

Enable Law, part of the Foot Anstey Group, is seeking a proactive Paralegal to join the Clinical Negligence team. Based in Exeter, you will support early-stage claims, onboard new clients and assist with sensitive cases, under the supervision of experienced lawyers, ensuring smooth progression and high-quality service.

The role emphasises strong administrative skills, efficient file setup, and collaborative work within a growing firm dedicated to client welfare and professional development.

Qualifications

  • Experience in clinical negligence or medical law is advantageous.
  • Ability to handle sensitive client information with discretion and empathy.
  • Strong communication skills and client-focused approach.

Responsibilities

  • Set up client files and obtain/review medical records for early-stage claims.

We're looking for a proactive and organised Paralegal to join our Clinical Negligence team. You'll play a vital role in supporting clients during some of the most challenging moments of their lives, helping to ensure their cases progress smoothly and efficiently. This role is based in our Southampton office, where regular office attendance is essential for collaboration and high-quality service delivery.

What you’ll do

In this role, you’ll:

  • The role will support lawyers across the firm in the initial stages of a claim to include setting up of the file, obtaining and reviewing medical records.
  • Drafting documentation and providing legal/administrative support to senior lawyers.
  • Conducting research into quantum, medical issues, legislation and case law.
  • Supporting the team with file management and day-to-day administration.

  • Strong IT skills including confident use of MS Outlook, Word and Excel.
