Job summary

Foot Anstey LLP’s Enable Law division is seeking a proactive Paralegal to support the Clinical Negligence team in Exeter. The role focuses on assisting with early-stage claims, onboarding new clients, and handling sensitive information with care.

You will draft documents, review medical records, conduct research, and provide administration support to senior lawyers, contributing to positive outcomes for clients while working in a collaborative, team-driven environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong administrative experience in a legal or professional services setting.
  • Interest and/or prior experience in Clinical Negligence matters.
  • Ability to handle sensitive client information with tact and empathy.
  • Excellent communication and time-management skills.
  • Proficient IT skills including MS Outlook, Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Support lawyers in the initial stages of a claim, including file setup and obtaining medical records.
  • Draft documentation and provide legal/administrative support to senior lawyers.
  • Research quantum, medical issues, legislation and case law.
  • Manage day-to-day file administration and organisation.

We’re looking for a proactive and organised Paralegal to join our Clinical Negligence team. You’ll play a vital role in supporting clients during some of the most challenging moments of their lives, helping to ensure their cases progress smoothly and efficiently. This role is based in our Southampton office, where regular office attendance is essential for collaboration and high-quality service delivery.

  • The role will support lawyers across the firm in the initial stages of a claim to include setting up of the file, obtaining and reviewing medical records.

  • Supporting the team with file management and day-to-day administration.
