Job description
Overview

An exciting opportunity to join Travel Chapter as a Paralegal Apprentice. Support in-house team in conducting legal research across various areas of law relevant to Travel Chapter's operations, including corporate law, employment law, property law, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and review of legal documents, including owner contracts, booking terms and conditions, supplier agreements, policies, and regulatory filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal requirements
  • Collaborate with in-house legal team members to assist in the drafting of written communications, including legal updates, for internal stakeholders and external parties
  • Participate in meetings and discussions with various Travel Chapter business units to gain insights into organisational needs and provide legal support and advice as appropriate
  • Help maintain and organise legal files, databases, and documentation systems, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to data protection regulations
  • Assist in reviewing and analysing legal issues and risks associated with Travel Chapter's business activities, transactions, and projects, and provide recommendations for risk mitigation
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of legal strategies and policies, including supporting compliance initiatives and regulatory audits
  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development activities, including attending training sessions, seminars, and workshops, to enhance legal knowledge and skills relevant to in-house legal practice
  • Conduct legal research using selected sources such as legal databases
  • Solve legal technical problems within their remit and escalating as needed
  • Present findings from legal research in line with organisational expectations
  • Assist in applying the principles of law to stakeholder cases
  • Assist with legal matters and transactions within the organisation
  • Communicate using plain English to provide clarification and explanation of the legal process and standard legal terms
  • Organise and administer workflow such as legal files, case management and accounting systems to progress work within service level expectations
  • Carry out file management activities such as preparing and collating bundles, taking and filing accurate notes, closing and reviewing files, maintaining databases and version control
  • Use a range of digital tools and technologies to draft legal documents, conduct legal research, carry out data analysis and collaborate with others
  • Apply fraud protection measures and cyber security procedures in relation to transactions, keeping up to date with approaches
  • Undertake activities to ensure a clear picture of a stakeholder\'s needs and risks throughout legal transactions
  • Assess risks and benefits to the stakeholder of different options and make recommendations to senior team members to ensure they work in the stakeholders\' best interests

Training and Education

Your Level 4 apprenticeship shall be delivered by a blend of online and face-to-face training on-the-job learning. It includes a Level 4 Certificate of Higher Education in Legal Services with potential exemptions from the first two years of the Level 7 Solicitor Apprenticeship. The entry requires Three A-levels (grade A-C) or 96 UCAS Points.
