A dynamic recruitment agency is seeking a motivated Paralegal to join their Property Department in Cranleigh. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop a career in property law by providing hands-on support in residential and commercial transactions. Ideal candidates should have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach. Experience in a legal environment is desirable but not essential. Training will be provided.

Job Title: Paralegal – Property Department

Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our busy Property Department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build or develop a career in property law, with hands-on experience in residential and/or commercial transactions.

Initial Focus:

The successful candidate will primarily assist with post-exchange and completion matters, supporting the team in ensuring transactions are processed efficiently and in line with legal and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing post-exchange procedures, including preparing completion statements and handling pre-completion checklists
  • Liaising with clients, solicitors, lenders, and other stakeholders during the completion process
  • Assisting with submission of SDLT forms and Land Registry applications
  • Ensuring accurate and timely processing of documents and correspondence
  • Maintaining and updating internal case management systems
  • Supporting fee earners and solicitors as needed

Future Development:

Following initial training, responsibilities may expand to include:

  • Opening new files and conducting conflict checks
  • Assisting with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Client (KYC) checks
  • Preparing initial client care packs and documentation

  • Experience in a legal environment is desirable but not essential

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Law or completion of a legal qualification (e.g. LPC/SQE) is desirable, but not required
  • Previous property or conveyancing experience is a plus
