The role involves supporting legal, corporate secretarial, and governance matters while working across multiple business units globally. We have an exciting opportunity for a paralegal to join our Group Corporate team here at FNZ and gain invaluable experience and knowledge within a growing fintech.
The role will be varied and you will support the business on a wide range of legal, corporate secretarial and governance matters. You will support on drafting of documents and helping on corporate transactions. You will also support the company secretarial team in relation to subsidiary governance and secretarial filings. This role, although based in London, will involve working across multiple business units across the globe.
The right candidate is someone who has a passion for complex legal challenges, has a detailed analytical brain, good organisational skills, is proactive and can build a strong stakeholder network across multiple teams in the business.
Organisational Design
This paralegal reports directly into the Head of Legal, Group Corporate and M&A.
Team Responsibilities
Be part of the Corporate Legal team in supporting the company in corporate governance, subsidiary management, acquisitions and divestments, company secretarial and multiple stakeholder management (including our investors and shareholders).
Specific Role Responsibilities
Legal Research: Conducting legal research and gathering relevant information needed for projects, deals, legal queries, etc.
Document Preparation: Drafting and revising legal documents such as contracts, agreements (including non-disclosure agreements) and corporate governance documentation, including resolutions and minutes.
Corporate Governance: Maintaining corporate records and assisting with corporate governance matters. Supporting the upkeep of our corporate secretarial system, Blueprint.
Compliance: Facilitating compliance with regulatory and legal requirements by tracking filing deadlines and ensuring documents are filed correctly.
Support: Assisting lawyers in preparing for board meetings, corporate transactions, and other legal matters.
Administrative Tasks: Handling communication with clients, suppliers, investors and other external entities as needed. Assisting with KYC requests. Assisting with the development of internal document and knowledge management.
Experience required
Excellent academic qualifications
Prior paralegal experience preferable
Excellent attention to detail and a methodological way of working
Strong communication skills (verbally and in writing) and experience of influencing a broad range of decision makers and stakeholders
Excellent business judgment and interpersonal skills
Enthusiasm for taking on new responsibilities, even if outside areas of expertise
Able to work in extremely fast-paced environment, collaboratively, and autonomously
