As a Paralegal, you’ll play a vital role in supporting this purpose by contributing to the provision of expert legal advice and ensuring the highest standards of legal and regulatory compliance across the Trust.
About The Role
Reporting to a Senior Legal Adviser, you’ll work closely with our Director of Legal and Risk Assurance, Head of Legal, and team of lawyers on a diverse range of matters, including:
- Data protection, including handling subject access requests
- Employment law, including support on employment litigation
- Reviewing contracts and supporting procurement activity
- Supporting school fee recovery cases from pre-action through to enforcement
- Administrative legal functions such as Companies House filings and record keeping
- Advising on regulatory frameworks in areas such as education, charity, property, immigration, and consumer law
You will also help review legislation and policy updates, support internal policy development, and contribute to staff training across the GDST.
About You
You’ll bring a sound academic foundation, having completed the LPC, SQE 1, or equivalent. You may already have some experience working in a legal or regulated setting, though we are open to strong candidates from a variety of legal backgrounds.
In addition to technical knowledge, we’re looking for someone with:
- A positive, team-oriented and pro-active mindset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A high level of integrity, tact and professionalism in handling sensitive matters
