An opportunity has arisen for a Paralegal to join the Legal department in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment.

Role Purpose

To support the legal team with a broad range of legal and administrative tasks to enable commercially-focused decision-making and advice.

What you will do

Contract Management

  • Manage the contract execution process.
  • Maintain and take responsibility for filing executed contracts and other documents in the legal database.
  • Ensuring accurate tracking of key terms, deadlines, and renewals, as required.
  • Responsibility for managing the NDA process, in liaison with other members of the legal team as required.
  • Assist with the drafting, review, and management of other commercial contracts such as terms of business, letters of intent and novation agreements, with supervision as required.

Legal Research and Document Management

  • Conduct legal research on specific topics as required.
  • Proof-read, review and prepare legal documentation, training materials, presentations and other business documentation.
  • Maintain a tracker to monitor legal spend with external counsel and other professional consultancy firms.
  • Liaise with other business teams as necessary to raise purchase orders, and support the invoice/payment process for external legal advice.

Company Secretarial

  • Assist with company secretarial tasks for Fortescue Zero and subsidiaries, and filing documents with Companies House.

General

  • Organise meetings and diary management on behalf of the team.
  • Respond to legal requests from the business independently and with supervision, as required.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of internal legal policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of legal processes.
  • General administrative support for the Legal team, as required.
About you
  • A university degree in Law or a qualifying degree with a GDL (minimum 2:1 or equivalent)
  • Strong attention to detail, good organisational skills, and a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to prioritise effectively and work under pressure to tight deadlines where required.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Previous experience in a similar role may be advantageous but is not essential.
