About The Role

Our Family Law team is a key part of the business. Our highly trained team of specialist family lawyers covers every aspect of family law, from divorce to children’s law. We are looking for a Paralegal to join this team, based in our Cheltenham office. This is a new and dynamic opportunity for someone to support all four Partners in this team.

  • Managing aspects of files managed by qualified Solicitors and undertaking routine legal tasks as directed and under supervision.
  • Undertaking legal processes, under supervision, such as routine file management including file opening and billing.
  • Diary management for the senior lawyer you are supporting, ensuring all deadlines are met in a timely manner.
  • Drafting legal documents using appropriate precedents and templates.
  • Undertaking legal research, using appropriate methods and sourcing, presenting the results in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Providing legal support to the designated senior lawyer and acting as a legal resource providing help where required.
  • Participating with the Paralegal and Trainee group and attending networking events or careers fairs to provide support as needed.
  • Promoting the firm through social media channels such as Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
  • Ensuring all work complies with risk management policies and procedures, in line with GDPR.
About You

As a Paralegal you will need to have:

  • Previous experience within a paralegal role is desirable.
  • Excellent organisational skills with great attention to detail.
  • A proactive self-starter with a willingness to learn and the ability to manage a growing workload.
  • Client service focus.
  • Strong IT skills with accurate typing capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and support peers.
  • Legal qualification, preferably post LPC or working towards SQE.
