About The Role

We are looking for a Paralegal to join our dynamic Medical Negligence team in Cambridge. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to take the next step in their career, working on complex legal matters within a reputable and growing firm.

Supporting an experienced legal team, this role will offer exposure to a range of client matters and cases. A desire to learn, develop and work as part of a busy and collaborative team will be essential for this role.

This role is suited to a candidate who has completed a law degree, or a qualifying degree with the GDL 1 year conversion course. A passion for medical negligence work is essential and experience delivering medical negligence work is desirable.

What This Role Would Include

  • With appropriate supervision, providing prospective and existing clients with high quality and proactive legal advice regarding complaints concerning medical treatment and inquests.
  • Conducting medical and legal research.
  • Assisting with the drafting of statements.
  • Requesting and the collation of medical records.
  • Drafting, proof reading and editing documents as necessary.
  • Attending inquests, court applications and trials.

  • Proven office experience as a Paralegal within Medical Negligence or in a similar role in a legal environment.
  • Excellent administration and organisational skills and demonstrates a high level of client service.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong attention to detail.
  • An ability to prioritise and manage own time effectively.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
