RLE INTERNATIONAL Produktentwicklungsgesellschaft mbH is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join their Legal Office in Dunton, Essex. You will support consumer complaints, litigation and regulatory projects, conduct legal research and assist the Company Secretary with governance tasks.

You will prepare Board packs, minutes and agendas, coordinate senior governance meetings and ensure documents are accurate and delivered on time. Hybrid working: 4 days in-office, 1 day WFH, INSIDE IR35.

Qualifications

  • Law degree from a UK university or PGDL is required.
  • Experience supporting a Company Secretary or governance function is desirable.
  • Strong research, analysis and issue-spotting abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support customer complaints, litigation and regulatory projects as required.
  • Assist with onboarding and processing invoices from external counsel and litigation reporting.
  • Prepare, compile and distribute Board and Committee packs within deadlines.
  • Coordinate governance meetings, including scheduling and document management.
  • Assist with Board minutes, meeting packs and agenda preparation.

Job description

Position Description:

Rate: £27.38 (via Umbrella PAYE) increasing to £35.89 after 12 weeks under AWR's - Aency worker Regulations.

Our client is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join their Legal Office in Dunton, Essex.

You will work collaboratively with members of their Legal Office and business teams to assist with consumer complaints and litigation, conduct legal research, provide support to the Company Secretary and deliver other key support for the Legal team.

Responsibilities:
  • Support customer complaints, litigation and regulatory projects as required.
  • Support monitoring for compliance with laws, regulations, guidance issued by relevant regulatory bodies, and Company policy.
  • Assist the Legal team with and perform legal research and analysis.
  • Assist with onboarding and processing invoices from external counsel and litigation reporting.
  • Support the Company Secretary with Board packs, meeting minutes and other tasks as required.
  • Coordinate Board, Committee and senior governance meetings, including logistics, scheduling and document management.
  • Prepare, compile, proofread and distribute Board and Committee packs within agreed deadlines.
  • Assist with the preparation, review and maintenance of Board and Committee minutes and records.
Skills Required:
  • Working understanding of UK consumer credit law and regulatory framework of a UK bank
  • Excellent research, issue-spotting and analytical skills
  • Ability to work under pressure against deadlines and deliver results
  • Attention to detail and continuous improvement mindset
  • Strong organisational and administration skills, and proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize appropriately
  • Effective communication skills to apply with directors, non-executive directors, senior management and employees in various departments (Accounting, Compliance, Operations, etc)
  • Previous experience supporting a Company Secretary, corporate governance function, Board of Directors or Board Committees is desirable.
  • Experience preparing Board papers, Board packs, meeting agendas and minutes is desirable.
  • Ability to work confidently with senior executives, directors and non-executive directors. Excellent document management, organisational and stakeholder-coordination skills. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and document collaboration platforms.
  • High level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information.
Education Required:

Have a law degree from a UK university or a degree and passed the PGDL or excellent experience working as a paralegal in a law firm or bank.
