Job Title: Paralegal/Litigation Executive - Fraud

Location: Birmingham

Job Type: Paralegals

Country/Territory: England

Description

At Clyde & Co, we're leaders in the Casualty market. Built on scale, unparalleled expertise, and a new vision for making the most of AI, data, and technology, our Casualty practice is the biggest in the UK. With 480 partners, 2400 lawyers, and 3200 legal professionals in over 60 locations on 6 continents, our reach is truly global.

The Team

Our fraud team is one of our fastest-growing practices, covering a range of insurance and non-insurance fraud disputes, with an emphasis on motor, EL/PL, and organised frauds. Our lawyers work closely with our intelligence analysts and understand the role of technology in fighting fraud.

We are looking to recruit a Paralegal/Litigation Executive with relevant Motor Fraud experience gained in a defendant firm who can demonstrate excellent knowledge of the litigation process and run their own case load of files.

Key responsibilities

  1. Working with all members of the team and you will be exposed to a variety of work, but predominantly acting on behalf of a range of insurance companies and self-insured commercial organisations.
  2. Responsible for running a full caseload of motor fraud claims.
  3. Carrying out investigations with live defenders and taking witness statements, reviewing and interpreting medical records and medical reports.
  4. Identifying information requirements and securing required documentation/evidence from claimant representatives.
  5. Adhering to reporting and reserving requirements in relation to different client SLAs.
  6. File Management - including initial reports, updating reports, and correspondence.
  7. Attending and appearing at court and pre-trial meetings, and adhering to court timetables.
  8. Drafting of all legal documents and client advice.
  9. Dealing with interlocutory proceedings, CMCs, and client meetings.
  10. Supporting marketing and business development activity with the team and the wider Clyde & Co casualty group.

About You

You will be working within a team filled with legal professionals working in an engaging and friendly environment. Our people pride themselves on making an impact through providing an excellent, results and solutions-focused service to our clients. We're looking for people with excellent communication and organisational skills, and an ability to work well under pressure. You will be focussed on delivering a highly professional service to clients, including compliance with client SLAs and MI requirements. Previous experience of managing your own caseload is required and experience of personal injury litigation would be desirable.

Our Values

As much as good academics and technical knowledge are important, we want people to join us who truly identify with our values.

Our values are the principles that guide the decisions we make, unite us in our endeavours, and strengthen our delivery, for our clients and our firm. We:

  1. Work as one: We are a globally connected team of talented people who act with a firm-first mentality to achieve success.

  3. Celebrate difference: We help each other to be at our best and believe our differences result in greater achievement.
  4. Act boldly: We seek new opportunities, take action, and learn as we go, recognising that curiosity drives our development and contributes to growth.
