Job Specific Information:
Itinerant will be working with Grade 9 student in the LAD Services for 6hrs daily. MCPS Official Job Description
At the direction of the principal, assists teachers by performing tasks that promote student learning and well-being. Works individually and in small groups to reinforce instruction, monitor performance, and support learning. Performs instructional, classroom management, and clerical tasks to support teachers and staff in all classrooms or learning environments.

Knowledge of child development, instructional strategies, and policies of Montgomery County Public Schools. Ability to assist with instruction, monitor student behavior, and support students with special needs. Effective communication skills, patience, and ability to work with children, young adults, and staff. Knowledge of standard desktop hardware and software such as MS Office and databases. Ability to meet core competencies of the Supporting Services Professional Growth System (SSPGS).
Preferred: AA degree (minimum), Bachelor's preferred, with coursework related to education or one year experience working with students. Alternatively, two to four years of experience working with children in educational settings. Or, at least 48 college credits with two years of relevant experience, or two years of experience plus successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment with a score of 455 or higher. Combinations of education, training, and experience that demonstrate the necessary skills may also be considered.
