Parklands Care Homes in Buckie is seeking a Pantry Assistant to support the kitchen and dining teams. This part-time role covers 15 hours per week with rotational schedules that include weekends, at £13.00 per hour.

Responsibilities include managing the Cook Safe system, preparing meals, liaising with cooks on dietary needs, and maintaining a clean, orderly pantry and dining area. Training is mandatory and prior kitchen experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with the team.
• Experience in pantry/kitchen or food service preferred.
• Good organisational skills, attention to detail, and physical stamina.
• Attendance at mandatory training is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Cook Safe system, including food safety policies, temperature monitoring and hygiene.
• Prepare and serve breakfast, offer meal choices and cook light meals.
• Liaise with cooks to meet residents' dietary needs and allergies, complete daily menus.
• Clear tables, wash dishes, prepare vegetables, and maintain a clean kitchen/dining area.
• Order and store food supplies, ensuring adequate stock while following infection control policies.
• Attend mandatory training as required.

We are looking for a Pantry Assistant who is dedicated to making every moment count, regardless of their qualifications or experience.

As a Pantry Assistant, you will need to be adaptable and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with our team are essential for maintaining the pantry, organising supplies, and ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly to meet the dietary needs of residents.

The Role...

• Manage the "Cook Safe" system, ensuring adherence to food safety policies, including food probing, temperature monitoring, and hygiene measures.
• Preparing and serving breakfast, offering meal choices to residents, and cooking light meals.
• Liaise with cooks to accommodate residents' dietary needs, be aware of food allergies, and complete daily menus based on individual preferences.
• Clearing tables, washing dishes, preparing vegetables, setting up for meals, and maintaining a clean kitchen and dining area.
• Order and store food supplies, ensuring adequate stock while adhering to infection control and health and safety policies.
• Attendance at mandatory training is required.
• Previous kitchen or food service experience is preferred, along with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, physical stamina, and good communication abilities.
• A positive attitude and a passion for helping others are essential.
