Job summary

Recruitment Helpline Ltd is seeking a part-time or full-time Panel Wireman/Woman to join its Herefordshire factory in Kington. The role involves assembling electrical control panels, wiring to diagrams, QA, and preparing panels for delivery. Training will be provided, and occasional on-site work may be required.

Applicants should have basic ability to read schematics (training provided) with attention to detail and the ability to work solo or in a small team. A driving licence is desirable.

Qualifications

• Ability to read electrical schematics would be beneficial, but training will be given.
• Attention to detail and the ability to work alone or in a small team.
• Experience using hand tools and mounting/drilling components.

Responsibilities

• Assembling all components required according to wiring diagrams
• Check ordered parts are correct to the control panel wiring diagrams
• Layout the control panel to the wiring diagrams
• Wire the control panel to the wiring diagrams
• Liaise with Panel Production Director and Production Planner with queries
• Complete Quality Assurance process
• Prepare control panels for delivery
• Other factory-based tasks when required

Job description

Job Title: Panel Wireman/Woman

Location: Kington, Herefordshire, HR5

Hours: 24 - 40hrs pw, Monday to Friday, permanent, overtime regularly available - Mon to Thu: 08:00 - 17:00 (inc. 30 minutes unpaid lunch break) Friday: 08:00 - 14:00 (no lunch break)

Pay Range: £13.26-£16.45 per hour based on experience and capability

An opportunity has arisen for either a part time or full-time panel build operative to start immediately. The role will be based in the factory unit at the company's premises in Kington, north Herefordshire, with occasional working on site when required to meet business needs. Working for a well-known and well-respected electrical installation company employing around 54 staff. At the factory unit the company manufactures electrical control panels for the process industry.

Reporting to the Factory & Purchasing Manager, duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assembling all components required according to wiring diagrams
• Check ordered parts are correct to the control panel wiring diagrams
• Layout the control panel to the control panel wiring diagrams
• Wire the control panel to the control panel wiring diagrams
• Liaise with Panel Production Director and Production Planner with any queries
• Complete Quality Assurance process
• Prepare control panels for delivery
• Other factory-based tasks when required

Required Skills and Abilities

• Ability to read electrical schematics would be beneficial, but not essential as training will be given
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work on your own as well as part of a small team
• Experience using hand tools, crimping, mounting and drilling
• Driving licence (desirable)
