Job summary

Masstemps is recruiting an experienced Panel Wirer for a busy manufacturing site near the Telford area. You will build and wire control panels to drawing specifications and install components such as contactors, relays and circuit breakers.

Precision and safety are essential as you read schematics and complete wiring to a high standard. We are seeking reliable candidates who can work to production schedules, demonstrate problem solving, and communicate effectively with the team.

Qualifications

• Panel wiring and control panel assembly experience.
• Able to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience wiring components in control panels or enclosures.
• Proficient with hand tools, crimping and cable preparation.
• Knowledge of cable termination, ferrules and identification.
• Good attention to detail and accurate work from drawings.
• Independent worker and team player; eager to take responsibility.
• Willing to commute reliably to Telford.

Responsibilities

• Build and wire electrical control panels and assemblies to drawings.
• Fit and wire components including contactors, relays, terminals, switches, circuit breakers.

• Carry out panel assembly, cable prep, crimping, termination and wiring.
• Route cables neatly within panels and enclosures.
• Perform continuity checks, testing and fault finding on panels.

• Use hand tools and electrical testing equipment safely.
• Work to production schedules with quality and accuracy.

THE JOB

• Build and wire electrical control panels and electrical assemblies to drawings and specifications.
• Fit and wire electrical components including contactors, relays, terminals, switches, circuit breakers and other control equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical schematic and wiring diagrams.
• Carry out panel assembly, cable preparation, crimping, termination and wiring.
• Route and dress cables neatly within control panels and enclosures.
• Carry out continuity checks, testing and fault finding on completed panels.
• Identify wiring faults and carry out repairs or modifications where required.
• Use hand tools and electrical testing equipment safely and effectively.
• Work to production schedules while maintaining a high standard of quality and accuracy.

ABOUT YOU

• Previous experience in panel wiring, control panel assembly or electrical assembly.
• Able to read and understand electrical schematic and wiring diagrams.
• Experience wiring electrical components within control panels or electrical enclosures.
• Confident using hand tools, cable preparation tools and crimping equipment.
• Experience with cable termination, ferrules, terminals and cable identification.
• Basic electrical testing and fault-finding experience would be advantageous.
• Good attention to detail and able to work accurately from drawings.
• Practical and methodical approach to problem solving.
• Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Keen to develop their skills and take on additional responsibility.
• Must be able to reliably commute to Telford.

HOURS OF WORK

Monday to Thursday 07:30AM to 16:30PM

Friday 07:30AM to 13:00PM (40 Hours per week)
